For fans of the Magic Kingdom who flock to the gates of the House of Mouse for their Disney fix, you might want to wander over to Rothick Art Haus Saturday night for what may be one of the more interesting and unconventional art shows to happen as of late. PopZilla gallery is opening their newest Disney mash-up show entitled “Mega Mou$e” only this time around they're assembling Disney characters, Marvel Comics and Star Wars together because ART.
The show features work by over 30 artists ranging from local newcomers to industry professionals working at Disney, Dreamworks, and Nickelodeon; who better to render a Mickey Mouse-Iron Man hybrid than these folks?

Pop culture mash-ups have never resonated with me, but something seems exceptionally intriguing about this show. In this county where you're always in range of seeing Disneyland fireworks at night no matter where you are, Mickey Mouse's presence is felt throughout; in fact, it's one of the prevalent things of living in the OC. Most of the show's artists live or hail from Orange County, so there's hope for a more deeper, personal connection to the works as well.
I don't even have to go into the major influence Disney has in pop culture, but this art show will. Now that the Disney company has engulfed Lucasfilm, it won't be long before we see some strange reincarnation of Star Wars; the parody is strong in this art show.
Check out the PopZilla Facebook page for teasers of the night's show. And while you're visiting tonight, don't forget to look outside for those Disneyland fireworks. See you there!
