Three people, including a Santa Ana police officer, were hospitalized early today when a car reportedly rear-ended the cop's cruiser.
The officer, a man driving a red car and one of his two female passengers complained of pain after the collision around 1:45 a.m. on Edinger Avenue at Fairview Street, according to Santa Ana Police Commander Larry Coleman.

The second woman in the red car did not complain of pain.
Both cars were severely damaged, Coleman reportedly told City News Service.
An investigation is under way.
