The OC Mart Mix is fast becoming a good, um, mix of eclectic food vendors. It already has Jeff Duggan's Portola Coffee Lab, We Olive & Wine Bar, and Savory Spice Shop, among others. Soon the meandering indoor swap meet will welcome a purveyor of ice cream called N'Ice and a raw oyster bar called Shuck. But today, Cheese Shop @ the mix debuts.

If you, by chance, recognize the people behind the counter at The
Cheese Shop, it is because they're an adjunct to The Cellar in San
Clemente. At this satellite store they'll not only offer an array of
cheeses but also charcuterie and sandwiches made
from both.
Today will be both a soft opening for the Cheese Shop (the grand
opening is this coming Saturday, January 28th) and a birthday party of
for the OC Mart Mix itself, which opened exactly one year ago today. Seabirds
will be there selling food. The folks at the Cheese Shop told me last
night they will be giving out samples today. The festivities begin at 11
a.m.
