Drugs, art school, chain smoking, odd jobs, homosexuality, family, death, love and elves. These are just some of the many topics covered in David Sedaris’ personal essays. You may recognize his name from his many best selling books, or maybe you’ve heard him speak as a contributor on NPR’s This American Life. Or perhaps the name sounds familiar because he shares a surname with funny woman Amy (spoiler: she’s his sister). Wherever you’ve heard of David Sedaris, you’ve heard of him because he’s a funny bastard. And he’ll be appearing in Long Beach—for one show only—to unleash the sardonic, self-deprecating humor that caused Time magazine to label him “Humorist of the Year.”
