While a recent barrage of media highlights focused mainly on the African American struggle of the period, the ladies of Lincoln’s time deserve recognition as well. And Mission San Juan Capistrano is filling the void with its glimpse at 12 of the most influential women of the 1860s. This exhibit features war-field medical instruments, era photographs and lectures on fashion and quilts. Stop by and take in the alternative history you would have been bombarded with if Hilary had won the nomination.
