Sweden's Opeth (pictured)–a
thinking man's heavy metal band if ever there was one–comes to Pomona
on Friday, May 15. Enslaved opens. Opeth are currently touring behind
their ninth studio album, Watershed, which came out last summer. $25 in advance, $28 at the door.
Lo-fi male-female duo The Kills,
who also have a fairly recent record (last spring's Midnight Boom), are
also coming to P-town, on Thursday, May 21. The Horros and The Magic
Wands open; $16 now, $18 day of show.
Oh, and we missed this somehow, but demitasse-sized American Idol season seven runner-up David Archuleta wiill be there on March 17, which is kind of wacky. Should be a great mix of little girls and old ladies there.
