Goldfish

South Coast Repertory prides itself on producing numerous world premieres —and regardless of what its critics might say, its loyal fans never seem to miss a show. Goldfish , a tale of bittersweet young love, is John Kolvenbach’s new “multigenerational” play, advertised as a “life-affirming comedy” on the “stuff of common experience.” And while Kolvenbach has been accused of being overly sentimental (by the Brits!), it certainly seems that both he and SCR know what OC patrons crave: happy endings and a wee bit of profanity. Bring it on, fishboy.
