This Weekend: Anatolian Cultures and Food Festival at OC Fairgrounds

You may have seen the posters plastered on bus stops throughout the county: There's the Anatolian Cultures and Food Festival this weekend at the Orange County Fairgrounds.

First thing you'll ask, just like I did, is: Where the hell is Anatolia?
The answer is Turkey.  Well, that's part of the answer anyway.
From the festival's website:
“The word “Anatolia” derived from Greek means 'country of the east'.

Anatolia or “Anadolu” as it is called in Turkish is a peninsula located in the southwest corner of Asia, what is known today as Turkey.

Most of the oldest civilizations have been established in Anatolia. Sumerians, Urartus (Armenians), Hittites, Lydians, Assyrians, Persians, Seljuks, Ottomans, Romans(Byzantine), Greeks, Celtics and many other civilizations made Anatolia their home.”
This will be the first year for the festival in O.C. and they're going big. More than 90 booths will be selling food and crafts. For a sampling of what you'll see and eat, CLICK HERE
And if that weren't enough, they are touting a reconstruction of the Trojan Horse.
I repeat.
THE FREAKIN' TROJAN HORSE!

Orange County Fairgrounds, 88 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa. April 2-5, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. $10 adults, $8 children. (310) 208-7290.
