In May, “Show: The Supper Club” debuted at Code Restaurant in Newport Beach. The burlesque/variety revue entertained diners with an end-to-end night-out experience — food, music, dancing, jungling acts, the works. From what I hear, it sold out most nights.
But this Monday, The Daily Pilot reported that there was recently some backstage trouble behind “Show” and that its future was now uncertain.
I confirmed with a call to Code today that they had replaced this Friday's scheduled “Show”, er, show with a “Brazilian Jazz Night”.
Is it cancelled forever? According to the gent I spoke to at Code, it is — proof, I suppose, that the “Show” doesn't always go on.
