Things to Do Tonight in Long Beach

Brazilian jam/funk/salsa band Delta Nove is playing for free tonight in Long Beach. They rule and you should go. If I get over this damn cough and running nose, I might be there. The fun goes down at the outdoor amphitheater at every tourist's favorite spot, Shoreline Village. The band plays from 6-10 p.m. and yes, they can fill up four hours on their own. For those of you who don't know the area, look for the dock outside P.F. Chang's.

Oh, and make sure to pick up some candy at Shoreline Village. There's a great spot that sells an array of items sure to rot your teeth.

Did I mention this is free?

Once you're done doing the family-friendly thing, head over to Alex's Bar, where old school punkers Vice Squad and Texas' Lower Class Brats are playing. These groups are used to playing all ages gigs, so imagine the drunken shenanigans bound to take place inside an adults-only venue. Unlike the Delta Nove show, this one is 21+ and costs $15.
