Too Much for a Monday: Japanese Motors, Pistolero Finish Up Residencies

Monday? More like FUNday, at least tonight (oh, that was clever). Not only do we have the shows that Ryan and Nate told you about earlier today, two Orange County bands are closing out their July residencies tonight: Japanese Motors (pictured) and Pistolero, both from Costa Mesa.

Indie-surfers Japanese Motors have played each Monday this month at the Echo in Los Angeles, and it looks like they're going out of the Echo Park venue on a high note: joined by Anaheim's Thee Makeout Party (read my December piece on them here), and the bay area's Blank Tapes (who played at the LAB yesterday, and play La Cave tomorrow). Free, starts at 8:30 p.m.

About 45 minutes to the south, metal revivalists Pistolero are ending a residency much closer to home, at the nearly ubiquitious Detroit Bar. Sederra will also be there, and it'll also be free. Look for things to start closer to 9 (or a little after). Those who follow our Twitter know that I saw GWAR this weekend, so I'm still very much in a heavy metal mood. And I won't have to worry about getting various fluids on me this time (I think); always a plus.
