I spent most of my time at Comic-Con International in San Diego holed up in extremely specific comic book-centric panels that only the most dedicated geeks could possibly care about, and sometimes not even then. (I know you guys are all so psyched that Power Girl is going to be team leader in the new JSA All Stars comic! Er, right?) So I was nowhere near the mess of humanity that was the giant lines that was Thursday's Twilight panel, for instance. (Phew!) But I still saw plenty of fun stuff; here are some iPhone pics from Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

The first celebrity spotting of the weekend: Thomas Jane, fresh off the Pacific Surfliner! That's right, the Punisher (and star of relatively terrible-looking new HBO series Hung) takes Amtrak.
Finally! A Comic-Con booth that my mother can enjoy!
There's some pricey merchandise on sale at Comic-Con. This robot was on sale for $4,000,000!
Blanka from Street Fighter II, unafraid of showing off his giant gut.
A common sight at any comic book convention is guys that used to be on sci-fi/fantasy/comic book-y TV shows and movies, sitting around look bored. Here's Peter Mayhew, aka Chewbacca.
And here's TV's Batman, Adam West, looking even more bored. His hair is so rich and colorful for an 80 year old man!
But everyone knows Adam West and Chewbacca. The best are the people who were on like, one episode of Farscape and are still trying to squeeze money out of fans in exchange for uncomfortable personal interaction. $20 for a Polaroid, eh? Well, I guess the film isn't being produced anymore and might be expensive.
Oh, Comic-Con. Don't ever change.

This was by nearby outdoor mall Horton Plaza all weekend. Apparently the Ninja Turtles don't want to pay for parking either!
The perfect My Little Pony for a creative child, or one that you hate.
Montreal-based Drawn and Quarterly publishes some of the classiest books out there, like Lynda Barry's What It Is and Adrian Tomine's Optic Nerve. Their creators reflect this high-brow aesthetic perfectly.
Not all Comic-Con freebies are created equal.
