We're all about the sweet tweets here at Heard Mentality–you can read ours and follow us through the little blobbies of text to the right. And we're also fans of local acts the New Limb (pictured) and Stacy Clark, who we've written copious amounts about in the past. And who doesn't love supporting a good cause? So a fundraising event revolving around Twitter and featuring performances from the New Limb and Stacy Clark is sort of a no-brainer for us. (There's also free food.)

It's the Orange County Twestival, and it's happening from 7 to 10 tonight at the Orange Hill Restaurant in Orange. Tickets are $25 at the door, with proceeds going to the Orangewood Children's Foundation, an anti-child abuse organization located in Santa Ana.
This event is just one of dozens of Twestivals happening around the world in the past week, all with the motto, “Tweet. Meet. Give.” The idea is to use the hefty communicative power of Twitter to help spread the word about the events (so it's also the perfect comeback to people who tell you that Twitter is a waste of time).
Food will be included as part of the ticket price, too: kobe beef sliders, chicken skewers, veggie egg rolls. Comedians–including MTV veteran Theo Von–are also part of the event. And there will be items up for bid, ticket giveaways and all that. Plus, you might meet some of your Twitter friends! Hopefully they're just as exciting in person, without an @ symbol in front of them.
