“Too weird to live, and too rare to die.” Proof positive of the decline of American culture will be on display in this oh-so-special screening of the cult classic Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas . Johnny Depp and Benicio Del Toro shine as lead characters Duke and his whacked-out lawyer, Dr. Gonzo, in Terry Gilliam’s film adaptation of Hunter S. Thompson’s novel (which was very loosely based on a true story). The duo pursues the American Dream through the vastness of the desert—and the constant consumption of LSD, coke, weed, mescaline, uppers, downers, screamers and laughers—leading to bizarre hallucinations, visions of human-like animals and absolute destruction.
