With sickness and disease on the rise despite our leaps in medical advancement, it’s time to examine the food that we eat and what effects it may be having on our bodies. Billions of dollars are being spent to eradicate diseases like cancer, diabetes and heart disease, yet they still remain three of the leading causes of death in the United States. The film Forks Over Knives explores this modern-day tragedy as well as solutions to the problem in the first installment of the new Food for Thought film series put on by the Orange County Great Park. Part of the park’s health and wellness initiative, the series also includes future screenings of Vanishing of the Bees and Urban Roots.
