Orange County Superior Court Judge Steven Bromberg today sentenced self-professed
apostolic pastor and bishop Oscar D. Perez Perez to 330 years in prison for molesting five boys in his Lake Forest apartment. Bromberg justified the maximum allowable sentence on the danger the 69-year-old poses to the community. On the bright side, with time served and good behavior, Perez could get out in less than half that time–unless future DA Tony Rackauckas IV fights the perv's release.

He billed himself as the top holy man at Spanish-language Iglesia Antigua Católica, which rented space from St. George's Episcopal Parish in Laguna Hills and is not affiliated with Orange County's Roman Catholic Diocese (escaped this one, Brownie!)
Perez told his flock–more than 60 of whom sent letters to Bromberg urging leniency for the good work their church leader has done–that he would take their boys, generally in the 9- to 11-year-old range and who had helped him with services, to his apartment to groom them to become future ministers during overnights.
Of course, he quickly groomed them for something else, with assaults that included “sodomy, oral
copulation, sexual penetration, touching of the victim's penis and/or
buttocks, kissing, and hugging,” as prosecutors laid out for the jury.
Perez warned the boys they would go to hell if they told anyone.
“You're a predator,” Bromberg told Perez today, perhaps adding for the Perez Perez emphasis a second, “You're a predator.”
His sickness was exposed when an 11-year-old boy defied the promised date with Satan, telling his mother that Perez during a July 2011 sleepover French kissed him and rubbed his penis. That led to an Orange County Sheriff's investigation that determined numerous times since 2008 the pastor
sodomized and rubbed the penis and buttocks of a second 11-year-old boy.
News of Perez's arrest in September 2011 and further investigation led to the discovery of three other boys under age 14 he had molested, and the Orange County District Attorney's office beefed up the charges against the supposed man of God this past January.
The jury in July convicted Perez on 22 felony counts of lewd acts on a child under 14, four felony
counts of lewd acts on a child, and sentencing enhancement allegations
for lewd acts against multiple victims.
Bromberg's three century prison sentence includes lifetime registration as a sex offender.
