There have been whispers all week about the Big Four Festival–that's Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax at one festival–and details were announced just this morning.
]
For three weekends in a row, the Empire Polo Club in Indio will see nothing but huge festivals: Coachella, Stagecoach and, tucked in right between 'em, the Big 4. The Big 4 Fest will take place on April 23.
Tickets go on sale Jan. 28–that's Friday!–at 10 a.m. PST on Ticketmaster.com; or you can call 1 (800) 745-3000. Admission starts at $99, and $199 will get you a VIP ticket.
Another awesome feature of the Big 4 Festival? Shuttle services. According to the Gauntlet, same-day shuttle services will be offered from Southern California cities such as Carson, Downtown Los Angeles, Pasadena, Ontario, Riverside, Anaheim, Irvine and San Diego twice a day. Shuttle service will set you back $40 to $65 . . . but think how grateful your sunburned, drunk self will be when it's all over on that two-hour trek home.
This isn't the first time Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax have toured together–last year, the four departed on a seven-show European tour.
A documentary titled, yep, The Big 4 on their Bulgarian stop was filmed and released in December 2010. The DVD also includes full sets from all bands. Check out the trailer:
