Plain White T’s embody a couple of interesting music trends that happen every now and then: a song becoming famous years after it was released, and a band becoming well-known for a hit single that doesn’t really sound much like the rest of their music. For Plain White T’s, the song that encompasses both of that criteria is, of course, “Hey There Delilah,” the heartfelt, inescapable 2007 single that stands in stark contrast to the rest of their in-your-face pop-punk such as the mildly successful tune “Hate (I Really Don’t Like You).” So while it may seem to a layperson that their latest album, The Wonders of the Younger, is a follow-up to their “Hey There Delilah” success, it’s actually their third record since that track. And who knows which songs on it may be a hit in 2013?
