LA Weekly Gets The Scoop on New Fullerton Burger Joint

Our sister paper's food blog has the story on Joseph Mahon's migration to our side of the fence. Mahon, for those who might not know the man, is an OC native who trained at the CIA and became the chef at Bastide, who until recently did successful pop-up restaurants in L.A.

Last month, he tweeted that he had signed a sublease in downtown Fullerton. Where it was and what it was going to be remained a mystery. Now we know. It'll be a burger joint called The Burger Parlor, which will be operating out of the Rialto Cafe at nights after the cafe wraps up its breakfast and lunch service for the day. This is the sort of set up we saw previously at Costa Mesa's Rooster Cafe, which hosted The Hidden Kitchen and Boqueria in the same way.

According to Amy Scattergood's Squid Ink article, they will also
sell “short rib chili cheese fries, Sloppy Joes, watermelon and fried
chicken salad, as well as shakes, Guinness floats, ice cream sandwiches
and S'mores parfaits. In addition to all the old school dessert-y
things, there will be a focus on Belgian ales and American IPA's, and
wines available by the glass.”
