When Five Crowns decided to 'convert' their bar into a bonafide gastropub, it was a strategic move that paid off. Ye olde kitchen that produces prime rib also unlocks the key to this wonderful dish. It may look incomplete, even deconstructed, but therein lies the beauty of a charcuterie and cheese platter.

A personal collage of salty or creamy delicacies, patrons can customize this to their liking. Maybe you just want a wee taste of goat cheese from Pondhopper in Oregon; or perhaps a side-by-side comparison of cow versus sheep's milk varieties. Your preference is their preference, as a designated chef stands by at the charcuterie station–a welcoming sight for locals as they meander inside.
Of course, it wouldn't be called charcuterie if not for the meat. Prosciutto, Sopressata, Salame or Bresaola? Get them all with a pint or bottle of your liking. This dish tastes as good as you want it to. To enhance your selection, it may include a dab of Dijon or drizzle of olive oil, making it suitable for consumption by itself, or with some of their sliced artisan bread. Cheesy counterparts include select accoutrements such as thinly sliced apple, marmalade or balsamic vinegar.
The SideDoor specialty can be shared amongst friends, or better yet, take the place of an entree. In this case, playing with your food is welcomed in this homey tavern.
