OCNORML, the Orange County chapter of the National Organization to Reform Marijuana Laws, is celebrating its eighth year anniversary tonight at Giovanni's Pizza in Fullerton. The event, which starts at 7 pm, is open to members and non-members alike who can afford the $10 donation at the door. The event will take over the entire restaurant and will include raffle prizes, free giveaways from sponsors, free food, games and “surprises.”
One can only (cough) imagine what those will be.

There's also live reggae music by The Long Beach Liberators and an acoustic set by Haile Maskel on the bill. Sounds pretty irie, almost too irie. Hmmmm.
In the outdoor area behind the restaurant, several local vendors will be setting up shop under a big tent, including the Orange County chapter of Americans for Safe Access, or ASA, Tri Chrome Treats (ebibles, anyone?), Vapor Store, Space Bars (yay, more edibiles, yay!) Human Solution (the activist group founded by Joe Grumbine, who's about to go on trial in Long Beach on marijuana charges, (see my recent cover story, “Buds”), Hush Pockets, and 420 Times.
Best of all? According to the press release sent out by OCNORML's president Kandice Hawes, there will even be a “medication area” available, presumably for qualified patients who remember to bring their paperwork and, more importantly, their “medicine.”
There's still space for more vendors at $100 per table, so if that's you, call Hawes at 714-928-9129.
Giovanni's Pizza is located at 922 W. Williamson Ave., Fullerton, 92832.
