KSE-Killswitch Engage
Friday, April 8 @ the Fox Theater in Pomona
This beloved, popular and very successful metalcore band from Massachusetts comes to Pomona to give their fans a lethal, emotional and cathartic night of metal inspired, hardcore infused breakdowns and thunderous, guitar-driven madness. The band, which has been going strong since 1999, are known to incite a rabid circle pit, making the drive to the IE more than worth it. These guys are known to bring the heaviness to the live performance, and also have a sense of humor some bands lack in the metal community. Be sure to get there early, for opening bands Memphis May Fire, 36 Crazyfists, and Toothgrinder.
BANE with TERROR
Sunday, April 10 @ the Observatory
Legendary hardcore band Bane is back to bring madness and havoc to the OC for a show at the Observatory on April. These guys have been shoveling out the heaviest hardcore and punk/metal hybrid in America, earning a solid fan base and respect among the underground scene across the world, since the mid ’90s. Supposedly, this is Bane’s final tour, which could be more likely considering these guys aren’t millionaire rockstars. But only time will tell. Revered LA area hardcore/metal band Terror are also on the bill and always bring a raging show, as well as local OC punk/metal band Death By Stereo.
Winds of Plague
Friday, April 15, @ Chain Reaction in Anaheim
This IE/OC local metalcore band is back in action springing into this show with San Diego heavy hitters Carnifex. Expect a lot of hardcore dancing in the pit,if thats your kind of thing. This will be loud, angry, but possibly enlightening music, get ready for a packed club with lots of movement for sure, possibly even a sold out show. Opening bands include the Iron sun, Phineas and Enterprise Earth.
MINI MURDERFEST’
Friday, April 22-Sunday, April 24 @ The Complex
The LA metal scene wouldn’t be the same without the huge, hairy and smiling character known as Dan Dismal, who works with Century Media, but has done his time as a booking agent, roadie, sound man, and even death metal performer in several local underground bands. He revives Murdefest at his home base, the Complex in Glendale (with Church of the 8th Day Productions), for a three-day festival that will deliver all things extreme metal. Hopefully heads will show up and it will be a good turnout for Friday Saturday and Sunday, which includes bands like Gravehill and Ghoulgotha on Friday, Cattle Decapitation, and Early Graves on Saturday, and Nausea, 16, Behold the Monolith and Exhausted Prayer on Sunday. This will be an event full of some of the best extreme underground metal LA has to offer.
