Meanwhile, the Anaheim Police Department says it was will among the agencies participating in the Thanksgiving holiday Click It or Ticket enforcement campaign.
From Thursday to Monday, Nov. 22-26, one of the busiest travel times of the year, Anaheim cops will be looking for drivers and passengers who are not wearing seat belts.
ORIGINAL POST, NOV. 16, 6:28 A.M.: The Irvine Police Department holds a sobriety checkpoint Saturday from 8:30 p.m. through 2 a.m.
It will be in the area of Culver Drive and Irvine Boulevard, the department announced.
Why? The IPD cites National Highway Traffic Safety Administration research that has shown high-visibility enforcement can reduce drunken driving fatalities by as much as 20 percent.
The checkpoint is being carried out with the use of grant funding awarded by the California Office of Traffic Safety.

Irvine police hold sobriety checkpoints Citywide every night. Orange County’s most overzealous police agency has a low threshold for probable cause. They get rewarded for # of DUI arrests but not for convictions. Give them greater incentive to arrest first and investigate the facts later.
