OC Weekly parted ways with Nick Schou as editor today.
Nick has been an integral part of the paper from its inception in 1995.
His valuable contributions to Southern California journalism are numerous and we wish him well.
Matt Coker, a longtime Weekly veteran, has been named interim editor.
Cynthia Rebolledo covers anything and everything food, culture and spirits.
I would’ve been sent to prison by the City of Anaheim on false charges if it wasn’t for Nick schou’s 2004 article “When Activist Attack”,
This is the biggest mistake the oc weekly could ever make. The yatch guy will regret this.
Stupid move boat man.
Integral? He and Moxley (legitimized it as an investigative beast. Guy fucking drove to Chiapas to track down a rebel general, or something like that. B.A.D.A.S.S.
Oh, damn. On to bigger pastures, Nick. Won’t be the same without you, & I’m still not over Will’s departure.?
Wow, so sad to see the paper continue to relinquish, if not cut off its very roots
Nick and his work have been a tremendous gift to the Weekly and the county at large for decades. Truth and justice aren’t just words to him, and his dogged pursuit of them made a difference in a lot of lives. As someone who’s worked with Nick inside the Weekly, and read him from outside it, I can only say thanks for being there for us all these years. Whatever the circumstances, Nick’s departure is OC’s loss, but I have no doubt that he’s going to keep on making a difference wherever he is..
Oc Weekly without Nick and Gustavo is a shell of the powerhouse publication it used to be. Señor Boat man is destroying the only good thing Orange County has going for it. Maybe he will come back as a staff writer of a publication one day and work for an owner who treats their writers and editors like shit. Karmas a bitch.
Just get the hell out of OC Weekly, Boat Man
Sorry Nick good working with you on my award-winning OC Weekly story “Blood Money” about civil justice being all victims of police violence usually get.
Hope you continue to comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable.
If it weren’t for Nick, I wouldn’t have found out about Suzie Graf’s background(Haitian Charity from Convicted Cheat, February 18, 2010). We almost considered this person for a directorship on our board. Close call. We appreciate all that you have done and will continue to do!
