In March 2015, two Santa Ana filmmakers showed members of Congress in Washington, D.C., their documentary Killswitch: The Battle to Control the Internet.
Today, you can see it yourself.
Indie distributor Random Media's release on video on demand and digital streaming platforms is intended to coincide with Friday's nationwide opening of the Oliver Stone film Snowden (which also has a sneak peek—followed by a beamed-in interview with the filmmaker and his subject—at theaters countywide on Wednesday night).
Director Ali Akbarzadeh and producer Jeffrey Horn of the Santa Ana film and commercial production company Akorn Entertainment describe the award-winning Killswitch as the story of hactivists who, like Snowden, put themselves in the cross-hairs of the most powerful interests in the world.
“A timely and important film,” says Random Media, “Killswitch ultimately poses the questions: Is this a cautionary tale of what happens when you dare to take on elite power structures? Or is it the spark that ignites a revolution that will redefine democracy in the digital age?”
As I pick what's behind curtain No. 3, take a look at this trailer:

I posted in March 2015 about the D.C. screening on the eve of the historic net neutrality ruling by the Federal Communications Commission, which called for an open Internet.
That has so far been upheld on appeal.
