Australian rockers Atlas Genius, a reunion show by Los Angeles’ pop/rock band Iglu & Hartly, LA singer/songwriter The White Buffalo and LA punk band The Bronx’s Mexican alter ego Mariachi El Bronx head the lineup of the 2019 Hermosa Beach Summer Series presented by KROQ Saturdays and Sundays, Aug. 17-18 and Aug. 24-25, when admission each day FREE!
(Those who want to catch singer/songwriter Jake Smith, a.k.a. The White Buffalo, earlier can go to his Aug. 1 show at Irvine Regional Park. Mariachi El Bronx can also have a 10th anniversary debut album re-release concert at the Garden Amp in Garden Grove on Sept. 6.)
Los Angeles-based 5B Artists + Media recently announced the Hermosa Beach Summer Series lineup that has Atlas Genius, who scored a major radio hit with “Trojans,” as the Aug. 17 headliner along with actor/standup Jamie Kennedy of Scream and Malibu’s Most Wanted fame. Also slated are live performances by LA indie rockers The Wrecks, alternative locals Kitten and Orange County’s own Your Favorite Color. The night is capped with a screening of North Shore presented by Hermosa Beach Friends of the Parks.
Iglu & Hartly, who in 2008 were cited as one of “Twenty Bands Making America Cool Again” by influential UK rock magazine New Music Express (NME)–and three years later went on hiatus as members pursued solo projects–fronts the Sunday, Aug. 18, show that also includes performances by Columbus, Ohio, pop rock trio The Orphan The Poet and LA rock band The Jacks.
“We really still can’t believe we will be coming back together to reunite in our old stomping grounds,” Iglu & Hartly frontman Jarvis Anderson says in the event announcement release. “Hermosa Beach was always a place of love and support for Iglu & Hartly and we considered it a second home. We are so grateful to Hermosa Beach Summer Series for this opportunity to make some magic on stage again … in this city.”
The Saturday, Aug. 24, headliner The White Buffalo/Jake Smith has performed at numerous music festivals around the world, including Bonnaroo, as well as on bills with the likes of Jack Johnson, Ziggy Marley and Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. He will be partnered on the Hermosa lineup by standup Steve Byrne (Sullivan & Son). Other musical acts that day include instrumental alternative surf group Pounded By The Surf and LA’s Trapdoor Social, and the nightcap movie will be a title voted on by Hermosa Beach locals.
Closing out this year’s series on Sunday, August 25, Mariachi El Bronx has played at Coachella, Shaky Knees, Driftwood, Riotfest, Punk Rock Bowling, Reading and Leeds and more.
“We are so stoked to be a part of the Hermosa Beach Summer Series,” Mariachi El Bronx vocalist Matt Caughthran says in the release. “Looking forward to celebrating the sacred California coastline with music, friends, family and maybe just a couple of drinks … see ya there!”
Also on that day’s bill are three-time Grammy-nominated roots reggae legends Wailing Souls, which celebrates its 50th anniversary as a band, and LA rockabilly outfit Gamblers Mark.
This marks the first year the Hermosa Beach Summer Series has expanded to two weekends. Music kicks off at 5 p.m. each day. Set times and additional programming times will be announced two weeks before to the first weekend of events.
More details will be forthcoming about kick-off events, community cleanups and the South Bay Craft Beer Experience. For more information on Hermosa Beach Summer Series, visit www.HermosaSummerSeries.com.

I recently tried CBD gummies from this website https://www.cornbreadhemp.com/collections/cbd-cream after the blue ribbon leisure and was pleasantly surprised past the results. Initially skeptical, I found that it significantly helped with my desire and slumber issues without any noticeable side effects. The oil was serene to use, with legible dosage instructions. It had a kindly, vulgar taste that was not unpleasant. Within a week, I noticed a patent improvement in my total well-being, feeling more relaxed and rested. I appreciate the regular approximate to wellness CBD offers and representation to pursue using it.
