Depending on your local watering hole, the beverage of choice may vary. White linen establishments lean towards wine, while spirit-forward bars prefer cocktails. Since we don't discriminate between alcohol choices, it's our duty to report the comings and goings of all things refreshing. Coincidentally, there are a duo of drinking events going on this week.
If you're treating yourself to an all-encompassing meal, check out the Green Flash beer pairing dinner over at Balboa Bay Resort's A&O Kitchen+Bar. Starting with a 6:30 p.m. Jibe Session IPA reception, guests will then be seated for a four-course lineup of flavors. At $75, we're not surprised they're doling out the seared foie gras with a braised, rabbit stuffed cannelloni. And how about that suckling pig in the third round?

For something more straightforward (i.e. drink first, eating later), head to Costa Mesa's own Hi-Time Wine Cellar for some sake love. Our favorite rep will be pouring a set of new additions to their collection starting at 6 p.m. Eight tastes for $15 is a steal, especially if you know your nigorizake flavors. Now go make up your mind and Kanpai!
