We hear and see a lot of media today espousing the pros and cons (well, mostly cons) of too much social media in our lives and the way technology shapes our world, but this is nothing new. Imagine how horrified people in the late 19th to early 20th century were when telephones, television and radio sprang up in their lives, or how people reacted to the Internet. Upcoming documentary Dreams Rewired explores the history and ongoing narratives and idealizations that new advents in technology brought, like end to global crisis, less barriers to the outside world, as well as the end of privacy and security. Were those dreams and fears justified? Decide for yourself, as you watch this Cinema Orange-hosted, Tilda Swinton-narrated screening, complete with food trucks and refreshments to satisfy your concerned palate.
