Orange County culture mavens not yet exhausted by the 10-day Newport Beach Film Festival will find some solace in the five-week Orange County Imagination Celebration. Though the local annual arts festival is geared primarily toward parents and their tiny tots and young adults, the 21-year-old Imagination Celebration features more than 50 performances, concerts and film screenings in 20 OC cities that anybody would enjoy.
This Sunday, the Orange County Museum of Art and Imagination Celebration will co-host a Family Arts Day at OCMA, a special installment of the museum's regular series of family-friendly events. In addition to free admission, families and friends can tackle hands-on projects using various (landscape) confections and view Shorts for Shorties, a series of short films held over from the Newport Beach Film Festival.
Imagination Celebration's Family Arts Day at the Orange County Museum of Art, 850 San Clemente Dr., Newport Beach, (949) 759-1122; www.ocimaginationcelebration.org/index.shtml. Sun., noon-4 p.m. Free. Imagination Celebration continues through June 8. Check website for events, dates and times.
