In this postmodern age, a popular entertainment trend involves mashing up popular literary tomes. Case in point: the Jane Austen-inspired novel Pride and Prejudice and Zombies . And now the tiny production company the Hunger Artists Theatre is getting in on the action with A Midsummer Night’s Scream . Based on a classic and incredibly loopy Shakespeare play, Scream follows the misadventures of a group of teens in the Louisiana Bayou caught in the crossfire of a zombie-vs.-voodoo-priestess showdown. Sounds mighty clever. It’s about time audiences got a zombie story with some brains.
