Imagine a world where your favorite Peanuts characters grow up, sell out, then reunite at Charlie Brown’s funeral. Don’t bother, playwright Brendan Hunt has already done it for you. Absolutely Filthy follows the story of a homeless protagonist, (oh hello Pig Pen), who stumbles into the funeral of an old friend attended by all his childhood pals. Peppermint Patty’s now a fashion designer, Schroeder's a pop star, and Linus is an Iraq war vet with PTSD (who has traded his blanky for a hanky). A study in modern day neurosis, Absolutely Filthy was borne of the of Sacred Fools Theater. Winner of best comedy at the Hollywood Fringe Festival 2013, it’s directed by Jeremy Aldridge. Check it out, and see how he dusts off an old chestnut, er, peanut.
