The Chance Theater's “On the Radar” series gives audiences a (free!) sneak peek at a compelling new work—well before the rest of the theater world gets their mits on it. This month's installment is playwright A. Rey Pamatmat's After All the Terrible Things I Do, set to officially debut at the Milwaukee Rep in October. Directed here by Nick Avila, the story follows Daniel, a writer who recently graduated from college, returning to his small hometown to do a little soul-searching. He lands a job at a bookstore—and it turns out he and his new boss, Linda (a Philippina refugee), have quite the intertwined past. It's an ever-poignant tale of bullying, cruelty, and what it takes to truly forgive. Not intended for children, but perhaps an eye-opening lesson for teenagers.
