ORIGINAL POST, FEB. 17, 7:02 A.M.: A 25-year-old Santa Ana man died from gunshot wounds after being driven to a hospital by a friend Saturday night.
The man showed up at the emergency room of Coastal Communities Hospital around 8:55 p.m. and died there a short time later, according to Santa Ana Police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna, the department spokesman.

His name was not released pending notification of family members.
As of early Sunday, investigators did not know where the shooting occurred.
Anyone with information that can help Santa Ana homicide detectives is asked to call 714.245.8390. Anonymous tips can be left at 1.855.TIP.OCCS. Should this prove to be a gang homicide, a monetary reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect or suspects may be offered.
UPDATE, FEB. 17, 5:02 P.M.: The man who died at Coastal Communities Hospital Saturday night has been identified as Alex Serrano Jr., according to the Orange County Sheriff-Coroner.
