As avid listeners of Nights with Alice Cooper, the musician's nightly radio show, we see his upcoming show at the Segerstrom Center as a sign that, deep down (way down), underneath the decades of morbid shock rock and smeared black makeup, Alice Cooper is pure class, all the way. Currently on his Raise the Dead tour, Cooper brings his penchant for macabre theater and stunning visuals to the performing arts center for the first time (ya think?), calling all secret Cooper fans out from their beige tract homes. Continuously recording and touring (with an induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011), Cooper says he is “glad to be an elder statesman.” And with age comes wisdom, or something like it, as he says, “We're carnivores, not dinosaurs. We eat whatever bands are in our path.” The Segerstrom Center won't know what hit it.
