For those still reeling over the complete failure of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to honor True Grit with anything at this year’s Oscars, there’s a little dose of Coen brothers off the silver screen waiting for you to enjoy. Almost an Evening is a series of one-act plays written by Ethan Coen—one-half of the powerhouse directing duo—currently onstage at the Garage Theatre Co. Consisting of three stories—Waiting, Four Benches and Debate—these tiny doses of dark comedy are just the right amount of magic to tide you over until the Academy comes back to its senses.
Thursdays-Saturdays, 8 p.m. Starts: March 10. Continues through March 26, 2011
