Most of the press about Insane Clown Posse and the juggalo culture consists of ridiculing the subculture and making really mean jokes, but the phenomenon gets bigger every year. American Juggalo is a 20+ minute documentary that was filmed at the 2011 Gathering of the Juggalos. In it, “the often mocked and misunderstood subculture of Juggalos” are shown hanging out, talking about what makes ICP special and how they're all about family. The film is beautifully shot, and walks you through the festival, giving viewers an idea of what it's like to actually be there. It's visually compelling; despite the visceral reactions you're bound to get (it's hard to watch someone proud proclaim to be an idiot, or wrangle their kids into their lifestyle choices) you really can't tear your eyes off the show. (Insane Clown Posse are at the Grove of Anaheim next week, incidentally.)
Watch the whole thing after the jump.
