Just like deciding what you’re going to eat for breakfast, lunch or dinner we can now choose flower (read: pot, for you old folks) based on the time of day and mood we are in. Lately, I’ve been using indicas because I’ve been dealing with back pain and need something strong to alleviate the constant throbbing in my vertebrae. Indicas are great for pain and stress, but when you want to wake n’ bake sometimes they’re not the best, unless you’re cool with spending most of the day on the couch.
So instead, I checked out Super Clinik’s menu in West Santa Ana–the newest dispensary in the Super Clinik chain–and saw Amnesia Haze, a sativa dominant hybrid. Hearts shot out of my eyes. I knew this was the one. The flower is exceptional: it won first place at the 2004 High Times Cannabis Cup, and in 2012 it won first place at the Sativa Cup. So you know it has to be good.
Amnesia Haze is derived from two sativas: Hawaiian and Thai, and is crossed with Afghan– a 100 percent Indica. It measures between 17 to 25 percent THC, and it helps with depression, anxiety, and pain while leaving you feeling happy, euphoric and energetic. Perfect! And Super Clinik has everyday deals, and Amnesia Haze was 5 grams for $35. A very reasonable price and for more than an eighth.
The buds are dense and the aroma is somewhat sweet and citrusy. I broke a luscious bud apart and loaded my pipe. It smokes very smooth has a nice taste. It has hints of earth from the reddish and orange hairs. I took my time and ended up smoking about three bowls. I had a nice heady buzz going, but of course nothing I couldn’t handle. The mix of mostly sativa with the Afghani indica was just right, I felt very relaxed but was wide awake and alert. As an indica lover, I wasn’t used to that uplifting feeling. Indicas normally don’t feel quite that way. Amnesia Haze would be a great Wake’nBake addition to my morning menu. Hold my coffee!
