The last time Ariel Pink and the Black Lips shared the stage at the Observatory, it was at the second Burgerama back in 2013. In the two-plus years since that appearance, each respective artist has released new music and has seen their respective profiles grow. Pink and the Lips respectively released acclaimed new music in the past year that have won them plaudits from fans and critics alike. This quick run up the West Coast will be the tour’s only American stops before heading to Europe in November. What you can expect is a fury of sound that has made the Black Lips one of the most exciting live acts out there and Pink replicating the intricate sound with a touring band that’s made him one of indie rock’s more interesting figures over the past decade.
