Whether a stressed-out college kid or someone needing to check out of urban sprawl for a while, the Fullerton Arboretum provides an oasis of landscapes. Located on the northeast side of Cal State Fullerton, the botanical garden features woodlands, desert, cultivated and Mediterranean collections. There's no need to worry about student parking here, and entrance to the arboretum is by donation. Once inside, wander around until happening upon the massive, awe-inspiring ombú tree of South America or take in majestic sceneries from the comforts of a wooden park bench. Learn more about nature, or simply enjoy its splendor. Good for a relaxing stroll, a summer concert or even a wedding, the Fullerton Arboretum is as diverse in its offerings as its plant life.
