Located in a big, beige, rectangular building sandwiched between Interstate 5 and the train tracks on Camino Capistrano, On Target boasts 20 lanes, with ranges that go up to 25 yards. You can get a lane for 16 bucks and stay as long as you want; 50 rounds of ammo runs from $14 to $19. And, if you don't want to shoot on your own, On Target also offers an array of classes. There's a merit-badge class for Boy Scouts and a self-defense class. And On Target hosts a special class limited to women. For the $75, three-hour crash course in personal safety, ladies only have to bring a pair of closed-toe shoes and just enough angst; On Target will provide the ammo, guns and targets. Aside from offering stellar classes, On Target also serves as a one-stop, everything-you-need-to-know-about-guns shop: lots of firearms and other goodies for sale; tons of brochures on display to keep customers apprised of what exactly they can and can't do legally; and, just in case you get yourself in a sticky situation, business cards for “The California Gun Attorney” are available. On the way out of the range, alongside pretty pink flowers, imprints of guns on the sidewalk bid customers farewell.
