Since forming in 2000, Blackberry Smoke has cemented themselves as one of the hardest working bands in rock—playing more than 250 shows a year can do that. In addition to their tireless work ethic, the Atlanta-natives (along with their contemporaries) have ushered in a new era of Southern rock. Having begun their career opening for the likes of the Zac Brown Band (whose label they’re signed to), ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd, the quintet are a dynamic group whose proficient live shows earned them a rabid following. Despite not having a new record out since 2012, Blackberry Smoke relish life on the road—and with their solid brand of good-time rock, it’s no surprise the crowds keep coming.
