You don't have to know the Black Lips personally to understand one thing for certain: The guys are stoked to be playing their amped-up garage rock-and stoked to be alive. There isn't much that hasn't already been written about Black Lips, but what's almost never mentioned is the insatiable lust for life that seems to spring from their every note and chord, infusing their songs with young-blood soul. True, they may be overhyped and have a sound that's perhaps a bit too familiar, but who cares? With their anything-goes stage show, it's obvious these boys have more fun than Radiohead when they play, and chances are you will, too.
