Don Fried’s Bodice Ripper goes through its final weekend of performances at Camino Real Playhouse, and we assure you you’ve never heard a synopsis like this: William, a struggling writer of hard boiled detective novels decides to switch over to writing romantic genre fiction, and ends up falling for his lovely editor and publisher. Things seem to be in an upswing, both creatively and personally, until Will’s biggest muses— Manley Stone and Vera, the main characters in all of his stories— come to life to sabotage Will’s new career. Can Will get them to adhere to these new rules? Find out in this surrealist comedy romp.
