While the holidays have officially come to a close, its spirit still lingers on for some of us. For those of you who aren’t finished with the camaraderie that comes with celebratory potlucks, consider a New Year food swap hosted by Borderline Food Swap N.O.C., who’ve previously hosted similar events in central Orange County. The event, which will be on January 9 at Henry Boisseranc Park in Buena Park, requires each participant to bring a homemade and/or homegrown meal that will be silently auctioned off. The end result: you’ll get a taste of someone else’s cooking and hopefully expand your repertoire of recipes! (Bonus: you’ll also meet local community members who’re into food as much as you are.)
The organizers suggest bringing dishes made out of fresh ingredients but, if it’s more convenient for you, they say meals made out of preserves and canned foods are fine too. You can bring as few or many items as you please! The event starts at 2 p.m. To learn more about it, visit the event’s website.
Henry Boisseranc Park is located at 7520 Dale St, Buena Park.
