If you can't get to London to see the West End revival of this theater classic in October, catch Theatre Out's adaptation opening this week in Orange County. As an audience member in sketchy theater house the Kit Kat Club, watch performances (and life trials) of young Sally Bowles, a cabaret rising star—but this is 1930s Berlin and the world is on the brink of disaster. Filled with showtune classics “Perfectly Marvelous,” “Money,” and, of course, “Cabaret,” Theatre Out's modern revival is directed by David Carnevale and Stephen Amundson, and choreographed by Frankie Maronne. Starring Andrea Dennison-Laufer as the lead role, this show promises all the camp and glitz of the original—and we have a feeling she'll do Liza's false eyelashes and pointed bob proud.
Fridays, Saturdays. Starts: June 29. Continues through Aug. 4, 2012
