You officially have a new place to publicly espouse your love for boom-bap nostalgia. Tuesday nights at Commonwealth Lounge are now home of 1992sdays, a club night specializing in the best of hip-hop, R&B, New Jack Swing, and other audio gems from the year of The Chronic. Whether you’re busting the Running Man on the dance floor or trading stories from “back in the day” at the bar, you’re sure to hear some crowd pleasers that double as conversation starters. Allow DJs Bobby Soul, Dijon and Wako to give you a guided audio tour through crate digging classics and unknown joints that’ll make you wanna re-examine the decade you thought you knew. This week, soul singing MC Jud Nester (known for his work with culture collective Abstract Workshop) hits the stage to cap off a night that is sure to be all that and a bag of chips.
Tuesdays, 8 p.m. Starts: Nov. 17. Continues through Dec. 31, 2009
