Fantastical visions of what the future might possibly be like has kept children’s imaginations—and art projects—going for years. In “Battlestar Abstractica,” held at the co-op art space Nomadic Image, artists create futuristic worlds inspired by fantasy and science fiction through photography—a slightly more restrictive process than Crayolas and construction paper. Some images include surreal Cambodian landscapes, Mexican “illegal aliens” attacking Guadalajara, an exploration of a sunken city and even a little steampunk. Oh, and lots of stormtroopers.
Thursdays, Fridays, 6 p.m.; Saturdays, 2 p.m.; Sundays, 1 p.m. Starts: May 21. Continues through June 30, 2009
