If living next door to the county that houses Hollywood has taught us anything, it’s that everyone has a screenplay. So why not do something a little different and write a play for the stage—you know, for live performance? Luckily for Orange County writers, Fullerton College’s Resident Theatre Co. welcomes all with open arms into their annual Playwright Festival. For 16 years, RTC has assembled its company of actors, directors and producers to give submitted scripts a chance to shine in the limelight with a reading before an audience followed by an open discussion and critique. It’s too late to submit your own masterpiece, but attending one of these festival workshops might give you future Shakespeares out there some much-needed guidance.
