It's hard to forget the fuzzy, funky beats that introduce Nikka Costa's 2001 sleeper hit “Everybody Got Their Something.” While grammar nitpickers may be appalled at her choice of album and song titles (there's also 2005's Can'tneverdidnothing), music fans certainly have nothing to grumble about. Even with a stellar pedigree (she's the daughter of legendary music producer, conductor and arranger Don Costa), the sexy siren has yet to hit it big in the States despite international success by the time she was 10. But with houseguests such as Sly Stone and Frank Sinatra lurking around her childhood home (the latter was her godfather), Costa soaked up enough funk and showmanship to hold her own. She's definitely got somethin'.
