Seven new works by unknown, emerging and established writers who happen to have Spanish-sounding names will be presented this weekend as part of the Breath of Fire Latina Theater Ensemble’s 2nd Annual New Works Festival. Writers from across the country submitted work, and these are the ones the judges liked best. Just some of the highlights: homeless kids living in the shadow of Disneyland; a theater troupe led by a guy named “Crazy Mex”s; a teen-age boy with wings made of dirty feathers and trash; sisters wrestling with Catholic guilt (sound muy caliente!) and even a musical.
